In these challenging times, many people are feeling the hardships of survival.
How can one fare slightly better than others in adversity?
The key lies in diligence.
However, this does not refer to inefficient diligence, as inefficient diligence is actually a poison.
If a person remains in a state of inefficient diligence, gradually, they will fall into the so-called "pseudo-diligence trap."
Many people work long hours but lack efficiency and results, ultimately falling into low-level repetition.
Therefore, we not only need to be diligent but also need to be efficiently diligent.
Efficient diligence actually requires the ability to think deeply.
So, how can we improve our ability to think deeply? Here are five foolish methods I'd like to share.
First, say "I think" less.
Behavioral economist Ellsberg proposed a paradox:
When we make decisions based on experience, we tend to choose possibilities we are familiar with.
This means we are often limited by our own intuition and biases.
Therefore, breaking free from inertia, opening our minds, and saying "I think" less is important.
Secondly, listen to others more.
In addition to reducing our own subjective biases, we need to actively listen to others' opinions and experiences.
Communicating with truly excellent people and learning from them can help us broaden our horizons and accept different viewpoints, thereby enriching our cognition.
The third method is to frequently ask why. By continuously asking "why," we can gradually uncover the essence of a problem and find effective ways to solve it.
The fourth method is to try things out frequently. After acquiring information and thinking deeply, we need to put it into practice.
Only through action can we get feedback and continuously adjust and improve based on this feedback, forming new insights.
The final method is to review every day.
We should engage in deep review and reflection daily, integrating our knowledge and thoughts into a system, and continuously learning and improving.
Through continuous review, we can constantly enhance our cognitive level, thus gaining the ability to see the essence of things.
In short, deep thinking is one of the fastest ways for us to make progress.
Never give up on growth and keep challenging yourself to stand out in adversity.
Finally, let's end with a quote from the classic movie "The Godfather": "Those who can see the essence of things in half a second and those who can't see it in a lifetime have completely different destinies."
