At 8.30am Beijing time today, the final of the 2024 Total Energy Toms Cup and Uber Cup, also known as the Chengdu 2024 Toms Cup, kicked off in Chengdu, China.
In the next 9 days, 32 teams (men's teams and women's teams, 16 teams each) from 20 countries and regions around the world will gather in Chengdu to jointly showcase the wonderful competition of world badminton.
In the opening match of the Uber Cup this morning, the Chinese badminton team beat the Singapore badminton team 5-0 to get off to a good start.
A total of four matches were played in the opening match, with China taking on Singapore in Group A of the Uber Cup, Japan taking on Uganda in Group C, Malaysia taking on Hong Kong, China in Group D of the Thomas Cup, and South Korea taking on Canada in Group A.

The Chengdu 2024 Tang You Cup is the first world's top badminton tournament to be held in western China, and it is also another major sports event after the last Summer Universiade.

The overall age of the audience showed a younger trend, of which the audience under 35 accounted for more than 54%.
