At some point in Earth's history, about 65 million years ago, the dinosaurs that dominated the planet at that time had ruled for nearly 200 million years.
From the first appearance of the Triassic dinosaurs, they went through a long evolutionary process, finally reaching the peak of civilization during the Jurassic period.
It was a fine day, and dinosaur society was still functioning as usual. However, this calm was thought to be the last before the storm, as a huge space meteorite descended on Earth shortly afterwards.
In the past, it was widely believed that the extinction of dinosaurs and other creatures was instantaneous because the asteroid's destructive force was too strong.
But this is not the case.
Perhaps at some point before extinction, the dinosaurs experienced an apocalyptic disaster.
Why do we see so few asteroids hitting Earth?
This is because the atmosphere destroys smaller meteorites, reducing them to ash and failing to reach the surface.
However, that meteorite, about 65 million years ago, was so large that it passed right through the atmosphere.
This has led to a series of violent weather phenomena, including volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis.
Dinosaurs and other creatures could not escape the threat of this catastrophe.
This was followed by a violent crash. It was as if the earth had been swept by a massive force, destroying 90% of all living things.
While some small creatures may survive, their living space is rapidly shrinking as a chain reaction takes place.
A large amount of dust blocked the sun, causing plants to be unable to photosynthesize, and the temperature of the earth plummeted, putting life in danger of death.
The impact put an end to hundreds of millions of years of dinosaur civilization.
Although the Earth has experienced many mass extinctions, the glory of the age of dinosaurs is still regrettable.
Traces of that devastating meteorite can still be seen in some parts of Mexico today.
Scientists have speculated about the origin of these meteorites by studying their remains.
The Oort Cloud is home to a group of long-period comets that fly into the solar system from time to time and are then pushed back by the sun's gravity.
This could be where the meteorite came from.
Although the truth about the extinction of dinosaurs is still murky, scientists have come up with some reasonable hypotheses.
However, nothing is known about the asteroid's journey through the solar system.
