Recently, Tesla founder Elon Musk quietly arrived in China on his private jet, the Gulfstream G650ER, sending shockwaves through the tech and auto worlds.

The purpose of the visit was in the spotlight, especially when Tesla's unexpected absence from the Beijing International Auto Show was in full swing.

Dubbed the "Rolls-Royce of airplanes," the Gulfstream G650ER is the most advanced of Musk's four private jets and one of the luxury items sought after by the world's wealthy.

Its maximum range of 13,890km and maximum flight speed of Mach 0.925 are undoubtedly impressive.

The more than 600 million yuan private jet trip brought Musk to the ancient land of China.

Behind the visit, it may be related to the development of Tesla's self-driving technology.

Tesla's FSD (fully autonomous driving) system has been an innovation that Musk prides itself on.

He believes that solutions based on pure visual neural networks will lead to the future of autonomous driving, while Lidar is considered "stupid and has no future."

This view may be controversial, but it is practiced on Tesla's products. Tesla's FSD system captures environmental information through eight surrounding cameras and processes it in real time through the built-in FSD model to achieve autonomous driving.

Musk's visit to China is likely to promote the application of FSD systems in the Chinese market.

Tesla promised that if the FSD system in use during the accident, the responsibility will be borne by the car company, which gave consumers great confidence.

With the continuous upgrading of OTA technology, the automatic driving ability of FSD system will also continue to improve, and even is expected to exceed the driving level of the vast majority of drivers.

The implementation of autonomous driving technology in the Chinese market faces many challenges, including legal regulations and road environment challenges.

However, Musk's visit has undoubtedly injected strong momentum into Tesla's layout in this field.

His arrival will promote the further development of Tesla in the domestic market, and will also bring new opportunities and challenges to the entire autonomous driving industry.

Tesla promises that if an accident occurs during the use of the FSD system, the responsibility will be borne by the car company, which is a huge challenge for the world's new energy car companies.
